Which Wireless Network Should I Use? (Fayette campus only)

Upper Iowa University’s I.T. department provides 4 wireless networks throughout the Fayette campus. These are UIUWN, UIUinternet, UIUGuest, and MyResNet. Each network is designed and configured for a different purpose.

The UIUWN network is intended for full time staff and faculty on the Fayette campus that have a UIU Laptop that was provided by, issued by, and purchased through the I.T. department. The UIUWN network is available on all central campus buildings except the Student Village buildings.

The UIUinternet network is intended for full time faculty and staff on the Fayette campus that have a laptop or mobile device that was not issued, configured, or provided by I.T. This includes cell phones and ipads. The UIUinternet network is available on all central campus buildings except the Student Village buildings.

The UIUGuest network is intended for guest and visitor devices at UIU that do not fall into any of the other categories. The UIUGuest network is available on all central campus buildings except the Student Village buildings.

MyResNet is the student wireless network, and is intended for Fayette campus students. MyResNet is hosted and provided by the internet service provider, Apogee. MyResNet offers faster speeds than UIUGuest and UIUinternet, and is available in all central campus buildings.
